  • PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITION

    Wed 07 Oct 2020

    A message from Mr Metz

All you budding photographers out there, here's a chance to get outside, take a few photos and have  a chance of winning a prize! The children in our school have been offered the chance to enter a photography competition. As we head into Autumn, it's a perfect opportunity to capture your time in Springfield Park. This might be snapping the leaves as they begin to fall or a selfie with your family on the swings. Springfield Park is undergoing a giant transformation and as these changes begin to get underway we want to capture your experiences of the park, snapping pictures of the park itself and capturing pictures that show how Springfield Park makes you feel. There are two themes and eight prizes to win across the age groups. The deadline for submissions is Sunday 1st November at 5pm. The competition is open to everyone aged 18 and under and you can enter into one or both themes. Please ask an adult at home to help you submit your entries (details can be found using the link below). https://capacitylab.co.uk/portfolio/springfieldparkphoto/

  • SUMMER READING CHALLENGE

    Wed 15 Jul 2020

The new Summer Reading Challenge is here!

Each year thousands of children across the country take part, visiting libraries, reading books and receiving rewards.

Unfortunately, this year, with the temporary closure of libraries, and the measures that will be necessary to provide a safe environment for staff and library visitors on reopening, it will be impossible to run the challenge in the way that it has been done in previous years.

However, The Reading Agency have taken the Summer Reading Challenge online. The theme of this year’s challenge is The Silly Squad and is all about funny books, happiness, and laughter. The Silly Squad is a team of animals who love to go on adventures, having fun and a few laughs along the way. The characters have been illustrated by the award winning author and illustrator Laura Ellen Anderson.

Children can join the adventure by setting up their own personal challenge on the Silly Squad online platform at www.sillysquad.org.uk. They can keep track of the books that they have read, see book recommendations, and unlock rewards. There will also be lots of activities and quizzes to keep them entertained and encourage them to keep up their reading over the summer.

Liverpool Parent and Carers - LivPaC

    Who we are:

Liverpool Parent and Carers Forum (LivPaC) is a group of parents and carers of children and young people with special additional needs and/or disabilities (SEND) who work with education, health and care services to ensure the services they plan and deliver are fit for purpose and meet the needs of children, young people and their families across Liverpool.  We have a Steering Group of parent and carer volunteers who lead this work and who actively seek out the experiences and views of parents and carers across Liverpool to make sure we know what is important to them.  We aim to give parents and carers a collective voice and use our experience, knowledge and feedback from families to help commissioners and providers plan and develop the quality, range and accessibility of services families use.

    What we do: -

Through our participation and co-production, we are working to create a culture across all services which places the needs of families at the centre of the decision making.

    We Aim to:

    • empower parents/carers to have a voice
    • give information
    • be a collective voice for as many families as possible across Liverpool by providing a forum for views to help develop services
    • work in partnership with service providers
    • be supportive and accessible to all families across Liverpool
    • provides examples of good practice
    • provide informal support
    • encourage and promote inclusive attitudes and practice
