Save the Children Resource Pack 2 The Phase 2 resource pack is being shared at the beginning of the summer holidays to support families over the summer and includes, games and activities that can be easily be created from the contents of the pack itself, or replicated at home at no cost or low cost. Please note for printing. There are blank pages in the attached file which is for printing purposes as some of the sheets are one sided, so if you plan to print the pack please put in your printer settings to print double sided and it will all print out as planned. The importance of play When children are worried, play is more important than ever. It helps them learn and express themselves. So playing and having fun together is at the heart of this pack. The learning topics have been adapted from Families Connect, a Save the Children programme, which gives parents the tools and guidance they need to effectively engage in their child’s learning at home. We have also included a range of easily accessible games and activities to do over the summer. As well as information and support for children and parents on the Corona virus as well as support and activities for preparing to return to school and nursery and the ongoing changes. We know children might be feeling worried or confused at the moment about everything that is going on. That’s why there’s important tips on how to talk to children, help them express their feelings, and support their learning. We have included specific support around the virus for children, and support for parents too.
